Overview

Necromancy is usually a poor choice for arcane spellcasters - those who really want to master the deathless arts almost always pursue divine means. However, an alternative exists for those who desire power over undead but refuse to give up their arcane craft completely. Enter the pale master, who draws on a font of special lore that provides a macabre power all its own.

Many pale masters still end up supplementing their arcane power with levels of divine magic. The mixture of "pale lore" and clerical abilities to sway, create, command, and destroy undead can be a potent one.

  • Damage Reduction 5/Slashing
  • +1[W] Unarmed Damage
  • -20% attack speed
  • +100% Critical Hit Resistance
  • Healed by Negative Energy

  • +2 DC's to Enchantment Spells
  • Generate 25% less threat from spells and attacks
  • On Vorpal Melee Hit: Your attack causes Energy Drain, inflicting 1 Negative level to your victim
  • +100% Critical Hit Resistance
  • Healed by Negative Energy
  • Positive Energy and Repair Spells do not effect you
  • You take triple damage from Light energy
  • You are considered undead rather than your original type for the purpose of most effects

Shroud Toggle: You shroud yourself with negative energy and assume many of the traits of a wraith. While in this form:

  • Enemy attacks have a 25% chance to miss you due to incorporeality
  • You float as if affected by featherfall
  • +20 bonus to the Move Silently and Balance skills
  • Your attacks function as if they had Ghost Touch
  • On Critical Melee Hit: Your attack deals 1d6 Constitution damage to the victim
  • +100% Critical Hit Resistance
  • Healed by Negative Energy
  • Positive Energy and Repair Spells do not effect you
  • You take double damage from Light energy
  • You are considered undead rather than your original type for the purpose of most effects
