Overview

Dragon Disciples are Monks who have devoted themselves to seeking perfection through the Draconic way. Like other Monks, they use an energy called ki to perform amazing techniques in battle.

Dragon Disciples channel Draconic energy and their own Ki to perform mighty Spell-Like Abilities that can decimate their foes.

Through intense physical training and mental discipline, monks gain the ability to generate and control ki. They use this vital energy to project amazing beneficial effects/

In order to use their special abilities, monks must be in a state of physical and mental balance called being centered. To remain centered, a monk cannot wear armor and must fight unarmed or with special monk weapons like staffs and kamas.

Dragon Disciple Feats

Class Feats[edit]

Level 1[edit]

  • Basic Forms: The dragon disciple gains basic forms and stances as they start their path of understanding.
  • Armor Class Bonus: While unarmored and not equipping a shield, monks gain a passive bonus to Armor Class equal to their Wisdom modifier, if their Wisdom modifier is positive.
  • Flurry of Blows: When a dragon disciple is either unarmed or is wielding only dragon disciple weapons (Kama, Shuriken, Quarterstaff), the dragon disciple is treated as if they had a full Base Attack Bonus for all dragon disciple levels they possess rather than a 3/4 Base Attack Bonus.
  • Unarmed Strike: Monks are tremendously skilled at unarmed combat and inflict more damage with their bare hands. As they increase in levels, so will the damage they will inflict with their unarmed attacks at level 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20.
  • Dragon Disciple Feat: A dragon disciple may select a Dragon Disciple feat for free. All the prerequisites must be met.

Level 2[edit]

  • Evasion: When a dragon disciple makes a successful Reflex save to avoid damage, they suffer no damage instead of half damage. Evasion requires light or no armor.
  • Meditation: A two times per rest, a dragon disciple can meditate to slowly regain Ki. It stabilizes when it reaches over three times his Concentration score.
  • Dragon Disciple Feat: A dragon disciple may select a martial arts feat for free. All the prerequisites must be met.

Level 3[edit]

  • Still Mind: Training and meditation have improved the dragon disciples's resistance to mind-affecting attacks, granting you a +2 bonus on saving throws against enchantments.
  • Fast Movement: While centered (unarmored, unencumbered, and wielding dragon disciple weapons), a dragon disciple runs faster for every three dragon disciple levels he possesses.
  • Choice of Philosophy: You have advanced far enough that you must make a choice – whether to follow the Path of Harmonious Balance and seek to be at peace with the world, or to follow the Path of Inevitable Dominion and seek to dominate the world. This choice will affect enhancement choices open to you and will affect what finishing moves you receive.

Level 4[edit]

  • Ki Strike (Magic): All of a dragon disciple's unarmed melee attacks are empowered with Ki and are considered magical for damage reduction purposes.
  • Slow Fall: A dragon disciple's focus allows him to bend nature around him to reduce gravity's effect. This is an active feat, and can be turned off should you desire normal gravity to affect you. The dragon disciple must be centered to use this ability, and its effectiveness increases as you continue to gain power, at every two level.
  • Unarmed Strike: While centered (unarmored, unencumbered, and wielding dragon disciple weapons), your fists and feet are lethal weapons.

Level 5[edit]

  • Purity of Body: At this level, a dragon disciple has gained control over his body’s immune system and is now unaffected by all natural diseases.

  • Slow Fall: A dragon disciple's focus allows him to bend nature around him to reduce gravity's effect. This is an active feat, and can be turned off should you desire normal gravity to affect you.

Level 7[edit]

  • Wholeness of Body: This feat allows monks expend 10 Ki to heal half their hit points over time. The formula for how many hit points is regained is (Monk level)/2 + Wisdom modifier every 2 seconds for 30 seconds. This feat cannot be used in combat, the dragon disciple must stand still and perform no action while he regenarates some of his hit points. There is a cool-down of 180 seconds. (Healing Amplification items and Improved Recovery enhancements may result in a full regeneration of HP.)
