Shield Proficiency (General)

Type: Passive
Prerequisites: None
Description: You are proficient with bucklers, and small and large shields.
Benefits:
  • You do not suffer armor penalty to attack 

Automatic Grant:

  • This feat is granted free to Artificer at class level 1
  • This feat is granted free to Barbarian at class level 1
  • This feat is granted free to Bard at class level 1
  • This feat is granted free to Cleric at class level 1
  • This feat is granted free to Druid at class level 1
  • This feat is granted free to Fighter at class level 1
  • This feat is granted free to Paladin at class level 1
  • This feat is granted free to Ranger at class level 1
  • This feat is granted free to Paladin at class level 1


Notes: Wizards, Sorcerers and Bards should avoid using shields and shouldn't take this feat because a shield can cause arcane spells to fail to cast (known as Arcane Spell Failure). In general, the bigger the shield, the greater the chance of failure.
