DDO Compendium:Page Protection Policy

This policy is intended to provide guidelines to all users on why certain pages are protected from any user editing. All pages will inherently be available for editing by all editors with the below cases being the exceptions.

DDO Compendium

Pages within the DDO Compendium namespace are protected to be edited by administrators only due to them being internally used pages. These pages have no general impact on any content pages being added and mostly provide guidance agreed upon by all Administrators for operations of the DDO Compendium.

MediaWiki

Similar to the DDO Compendium namespaced pages, pages in the MediaWiki namespace affect internal aspects of the Compendium and are not available to change by normal editors.

Edit Warring

Pages involved in edit warring will be protected in accordance to the Edit Warring Policy.

High Traffic Templates

Templates that are used on very large numbers of pages will be locked for editing from all users that have not confirmed their email address on the Compendium. Further editing restrictions on high traffic templates may be put into place down the road if the need arises.

Home Page

The Main_Page is locked for editing by all users to prevent vandalism. Being the page with the highest amount of traffic from it being the default landing page when visiting the Compendium, it is the most likely to be vandalized of all pages on the Compendium.

This policy is a fluid document and may be changed and/or altered as the need arises. If there is something that you feel has been omitted or is inaccurate, please inform an Administrator.
