Undead Type

Undead are once-living creatures animated by spiritual or supernatural forces.


A undead has the following features:

  • 12-sided Hit Dice
  • Base attack bonus equal to 1/2 total Hit Dice
  • Good Will saves, poor reflex saves, very poor fort saves
  • Skill points, if the undead creature has an Intelligence score, are (4 + Intelligence modifier, minimum 1) per Hit Die
    • Multiply by 4 for first hit die
    • Many undead are mindless and gain no skill points or feats
  • Usually evil alignment


A undead possesses the following traits:

  • Immune to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects)
    • Unless specific player can bypass this immunity
  • Immune to poison
  • Immune to sleep
  • Immune to paralysis
  • Immune to stunning
  • Immune to disease
  • Immune to death effects
  • The are treated as having 100% fortification and sneak attack immunity
    • If you have effects that reduce fortification, you will be able to critical hit but not sneak attack them
  • Immune to energy drain
  • Immune to fatigue and exhaustion
  • Damaged by positive energy, healed by negative energy.
  • Not at risk to most insta-death effects
    • Except special effects that target undead
  • They do not breathe, eat, or sleep
