DDO Compendium:Bot Accounts

This policy is intended to provide guidance on the creation and usage of Bot Accounts.

Creation

Any user accounts created for the use of making bot edits on the DDO Compendium must contain the word Bot within the user name. You will need to contact an administrator to receive the appropriate permissions on the account to perform bot edits. Standard user accounts should not be used for bot editing.

Editing

Bot accounts should be kept to a minimum and only used when very large amounts of changes are needed to be made at one time. Bot accounts should make use of the MediaWiki write API and not make edits using the standard editor interface on any content page.
