DDO Compendium:Article Naming Policy

From DDO Compendium

This policy is designed to give proper guidelines as to how to name newly created articles. Articles that are named in such a way that do not follow the guidelines in this policy will be flagged for deletion immediately by administrators.

Namespacing[edit]

The majority of articles on the DDO Compendium will be created in the main namespace. However, certain special articles will be housed in their own specific namespace. An example would be this (and other DDO Compendium policies) are housed in the DDO_Compendium namespace because they don't directly relate to anything involving Dungeons & Dragons Online. There are additional namespaces that house special pages for the DDO Compendium and those are typically not edited by a normal editor.

Capitalization & Spelling[edit]

Each article that is created for some aspect of Dungeons & Dragons Online will be spelled and capitalized exactly how it is within the game. Any articles that created that do not meet this guideline will be immediately moved to the appropriately named article by an admin. Please verify with great detail that the new article that you created is properly named.

Irrelevant Articles[edit]

Articles created on the DDO Compendium MUST directly relate to Dungeons & Dragons Online or directly relate to this Compendium. All articles created that are not relevant to either of those topics will be promptly deleted by administrators. This includes, but is not limited to, spam articles, duplicate articles, articles with empty bodies.

Multiple Topics with the Same Name[edit]

If multiple topics have identical names, append the new article name using a singular space followed by the category in parenthesis. Example: Rock Boots (ML 3) Rock Boots (ML 7, Tier 1). If multiple pages do exist by the same name, please create a disambiguation page listing all the variations available.

About This Policy[edit]

This policy is a fluid document and may be changed and/or altered as the need arises. If there is something that you feel has been omitted or is inaccurate, please inform an Administrator.
